Here it is, already April 19! I can't believe it! Our new home in Severna Park is under contruction. We drove by over the weekend and couldn't believe the progress they have aleady made. We met one of our neighbors, Dave; he was going to plant some blackberry bushes. I remember the times in Redmond, WA. when my neighbor and I went blackberry picking. Our arms were covered in scrathes. We looked like we had been in a fight with a cat on the way to the vet!! But the blackberry cobbler was well worth the fight!! I hope neighbor, Dave has better control over the vines than we did!! Thank you Jesus for being a vine that doesn't leave wounds on our bodies, because you took them all upon yourself. I thank you that you give us strength to grow the fruit of the Spirit that others may enjoy, as we grow in You! |

Here it is March 1st, 2010! It has already been six months since we moved into the apartment in Annapolis.
I am thinking about as we plant bulbs in the fall, we can invision the flower that will come in the spring. We have been waiting patiently through the cold of winter, or maybe impatiently, for spring to see the results of our work. It takes a while for that bulb planted within the earth to put out it's roots to reach the nourishment it needs to grow. We wait with expectation, nerver realizing that only through the power of God does growth happen. We can't keep checking on the bulb to see if the roots have appeared, we just have to wait...while the power takes place deep in the darkness, first one root, then another..then the bulb bursts open to release the upward growth of the stem..still we wait. When I left Lenah Run for the last time, I looked at the flower bed. There were already leaves showing themselves..reaching out for the warmth of the sun to give them strength for further growth. Now I wonder if they made it through the blizzard and below freezing temperatures. I am hoping that the blanket of snow kept them warm and hidden for the coldness that came as winds blew. I think about how often in life do we think about our own spiritual growth in the Word of God. Do we allow our roots time to grow deep into the earth of His word? Do we trust Him enough to supply our needs as we stay planted in Him? Do we wait expectantly for the flower to bloom within our souls so that we might bring joy to others as they see the beauty of our faith in Him. Plant yourself into His word, find out that He will cause you to bloom also, for Him to look upon, and find pleasure in your growth. |

Here we are buried under snow..and it is the first day of winter..the blizzard came while it was still fall (officially) It has been a beautiful winter wonderland for those who don't have to face the elements. I remember those day well; while lying under my mail jeep to put the chains back together after they had come undone. Have you ever experience the thrill of ice cold snow caressing your cheek, as you try to hook the chains up with rubber bands; just well enough to get you off the mountain road? Sometimes "life" can give you bone chilling experiences, where you ask yourself," Why am I here?" I asked that question many times during my lifetime. Now I can honestly say I am so thankful for every experience. They were God's way of giving me a new heart, new eyes, and new ears. |

It is a crisp clear cold day here in the little apartment at Archstone Annaoplis Bay. I have been watching the mourning doves eat their breakfast of seeds and corn that one of my neighbors has thrown out for them. I think of how God throws out his seed for us to eat upon; the seed of His word to nourish us, and prepare us for the day ahead. How often do we share this seed with others? Just like the neighbor throws out the food for the animals, and birds of the forest to eat and be nourished, we need to throw out the Word to others who need to be fed and prepared for the day ahead. |

Good day! It has been a while since I added my thoughts. It has been a time of being uprooted by God, and transplanted to a new place. Kind of exciting to see this new path I am following to test the roots of my faith. But I am trusting that the One who has planted me here knows that this garden of His love will continue to bring forth good fruit off these old limbs that feel weak and frail at times, but remembers the strength that only the Gardner can give. His love does not fail to encourage growth beyond my own expectations. |
